Greg Pierson

President, CEO and Co-Founder

Greg's 20-year career has focused on building real-time business systems. As the co-founder and CEO of iovation, Greg is the visionary leader behind the use of reputation systems to prevent abuse of online services.

A serial entrepreneur, Greg previously founded ieLogic, a pioneer in online community technology within the massively multiplayer online games (MMOG) market.

Prior to ieLogic, Greg was a Global Retail Practice Manager and Business Process Architect with Accenture where he deployed point of sale systems for Bridgestone/Firestone and Nordstrom, and material requirements planning systems for Lands' End.

Greg holds a B.S. in business administration and a B.S. in economics from Oregon State University.


Jon Karl

Vice President, Business Development and Co-Founder

Jon is an experienced entrepreneur who, along with Greg Pierson, co-founded two companies, ieLogic and iovation.

At ieLogic, Jon was instrumental in creating and driving the company brand and technology innovation that led to the company's successful sale in just five years.

Before ieLogic, Jon was a marketing executive and consultant working with international brands such as Hewlett Packard.

Jon currently serves on the board of directors of the Merchant Risk Council, an organization of 7,800 merchants, vendors, financial institutions and law enforcement agencies that share the common goal of protecting and encouraging the thriving online commerce industry by establishing best practices for cyber-fraud prevention. In addition, Jon is also on the board of SplashCast, a media syndication start up in Portland, Ore.

Jon holds a B.S. in economics from Oregon State University.


Emmett Zahn

Vice President, Technology

Emmett's 30+ year career in technology management has focused on developing and deploying high-performance, high-availability transaction processing and information systems, primarily in the financial services industry. As Vice President of IT at iovation, he is responsible for every aspect of the company's product development organization including technology strategy, engineering, QA, and technical infrastructure.

Prior to joining iovation, Emmett was Group Vice President of US Software Services at TransUnion, responsible for credit reporting, decisioning, event-detection notification and risk management applications for core product delivery platforms. He has been an executive and key contributor in two organizations that grew from sub $10 million in revenue and less than 100 employees, to over $400 million in revenue and more than 1,000 employees, and has been responsible for systems that process real-time transactions on 90 billion record databases and has architected systems processing over 100,000 transactions per second in real-time financial trading environments that could never be down.

Emmett has represented technology groups on a number of executive teams in early stage, rapid growth, and mature organizations. He has also worked with JP Morgan Chase, Wachovia, AXA Financial Companies, Fidelity Capital Markets and the Chicago Board of Options Exchange.


Molly O'Hearn

Vice President, Operations and Co-Founder

Molly manages company operations and leads the post-sales customer support effort for iovation. Molly's 30-year plus career includes management and consultant roles in sales, operations and business management in both financial services and technology companies.

Prior to iovation, Molly was the Vice President of Operations at ieLogic, a pioneer in the development of massively multiplayer online games (MMOGs) and online community technologies. In this role, Molly managed finance and operations including the successful sale of the company. Following the sale of ieLogic, Molly, along with Greg Pierson and Jon Karl, co-founded iovation.

Molly's 12-year career at OSU Federal Credit Union included several executive roles starting with Vice President of Marketing, leading to Vice President of Operations and finally Vice President of Corporate Development. During this time Molly was responsible for the five-year business plan that was approved by federal regulators and led the organization's growth from $50M in assets to more than $395M.

Molly holds a B.S. in business from Oregon State University and an M.B.A. in management from the University of Oregon.


Scott Olson

Vice President, Marketing

Scott brings fifteen years of experience in computer security and marketing to iovation, where he is responsible for developing and leading all strategic marketing initiatives.

Scott is a recognized thought leader in Security. He has had articles published in such publications as Computerworld and has spoken at security events such as RSA and Digital ID World. Most recently, Scott headed the marketing team at Mirage Networks a provider of Network Access Control solutions. Prior to Mirage Networks, Scott ran marketing at WholeSecurity, a behavioral endpoint security solution provider, which was sold to Symantec in 2005. In addition to other marketing leadership roles at NetSolve and productmarketing.com, Scott co-founded WheelGroup Corporation, which produced the first commercially viable Intrusion Detection System (IDS), known as NetRanger. In 1998, WheelGroup was acquired by Cisco Systems and NetRanger became the backbone of their IDS technology.

Scott started his career as an early member of the Air Force Computer Emergency Response Team, where he tracked hackers and protected, tested and monitored Air Force sites.

Scott holds a B.S.E. in Electrical Engineering from Duke University and an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin. In 2007 Scott received the Distinguished Young Alumni award from the Duke University Pratt School of Engineering. Scott is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).


Chris Reid

Vice President, Sales

For the past 20 years, Chris has held executive management positions in the areas of sales management, marketing and business development for both large and small technology firms. His proven track record includes building and managing both inside and field sales teams that consistently exceed sales goals and move organizations to the next level. As Vice President of Sales at iovation, Chris is responsible for every aspect of the company's sales organization, including inside sales, outside sales and sales engineering.

Prior to iovation, Chris spent 5 years at Visual Sciences, a real-time data analytics company, where he led a sales team that grew revenues from $15 million to over $100 million with 16 straight quarters of double digit growth. Chris also helped position the company for a successful IPO in 2004. Before Visual Sciences, he spent 8 years at Merant, a leading global e-business software solutions company. At Merant, he led his organization in revenue growth from $50 to over $250 million, effectively leveraging the rapid shift of the market to Internet-related outsourcing.

Chris earned a bachelor's degree from Oregon State University.
