iovation Addresses Affiliate Fraud at Amsterdam Affiliate Conference

Using Device Fingerprinting to Avoid the Pitfalls of Online Fraud and Abuse

PORTLAND, Ore. – April 30, 2009 – iovation, provider of the world’s first and only device reputation service that tracks the reputation of computers to prevent online fraud and abuse, will be speaking at the upcoming Amsterdam Affiliate Conference (AAC). The world-famous online gaming affiliate conference, previously named CAP Euro Amsterdam, is organized by iGaming Business and takes place from April 30 – May 3, 2009.

Since 2004, iovation has been helping the world’s leading online gaming sites protect their businesses and legitimate players by providing fraud-fighting solutions that stop the most sophisticated forms of online fraud and abuse. At AAC, iovation will present during the Affiliate Pro Bootcamp, where topics such as poker and casino affiliate strategies and leveraging the latest technologies to grow your affiliate business will be discussed. Dave Wiseman, iovation’s head of European Markets, will kick off the first session on May 2 at 11:30 a.m. by exploring affiliate fraud, which is any sort of deceit, trickery, or cheating used to steal from an affiliate program.

Gaming operators are keen to avoid the traps of bonus abuse and click fraud, which result in paying affiliate fees that are based on fraudulent activity. At the same time, they want to welcome real players and extend limits as high as possible as quickly as possible. Mr. Wiseman will share ways to attract new players, while avoiding the pitfalls of bonus abuse and click fraud on your network.

Dave Wiseman has been an IT professional for more than 40 years and brings together the practicality of sound “mainframe era” thinking with an emphasis on safety and security in order to provide practical business solutions to everyday security issues. He has been a member of the British Computer Society for more than 20 years.
