Managing 12 Million Tickets a Year, Sports and Entertainment Ticketing Provider Reduces Fraud by 98%

In the article, loss prevention and technology writer Liz Parks explains how one of the largest ticketing providers put a stop to online ticket scams. Many merchants tend to rely on personal information about cardholders to determine whether a credit card has been stolen, yet many fraudsters are able to provide the requested information and bypass detection. Now, online merchants are enhancing their fraud prevention programs by tracking the activities of computers and mobile phones being used to login into e-commerce sites. In the case of New Era Tickets, within only two months of subscribing to the world's largest fraud database of device intelligence, they reduced their online fraud rate by an entire 98%.

Don Tennant, former Editor-in-Chief of Hong Kong and U.S. editions of Computeworld, recently caught up with iovation.
