iovation Exceeds Two Billion Fraud Checks

Provider of the world's first device reputation service announced that it has provided over two billion reputation checks for its online business customers. Using proven device identification techniques, iovation establishes reputations based on each computer's history of fraud or abuse.

Not only does iovation maintain the largest database of device reputations that reflect actual online fraud—e.g. a credit card chargeback—the continued growth of that database has allowed the company to create a device-based risk service that complements and provides significant uplift to existing identity-based fraud management tools.

America's 10 Most Wanted Botnets

Ellen Messmer of Network World posted an article listing the top botnets responsible for an estimated 12.4 billion infections in the U.S. With such high numbers, chances are good that your online business is negatively affected by botnets; the question is how to most effectively combat that type of fraud. We believe that the best way to fight fraud related to botnets is to track the actual devices that are being used to commit online fraud and abuse. Rather than relying on data harvested by networks focused entirely on malware and botnets, iovation associates real fact-based fraudulent evidence to computers, such as financial fraud, identity theft, solicitations, online abuse, and more.

In order to keep profits up, online gambling companies have to work hard to keep fraudsters out. Learn how to uncover hidden associations between accounts and devices and expose fraud rings.
